Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18, 1980) is an American actress who is best known for starring in the title role on the television show Veronica Mars, and most recently, Elle Bishop on Heroes and the voice of Gossip Girl (the character) on the CW show Gossip Girl. Bell is also an enthusiastic vegetarian, having appeared in PETA literature that promotes a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. n 2004, Bell made her big-screen debut, appearing in David Mamet's Spartan as Laura Newton, the kidnapped daughter of a high-ranking U.S. government official, acting alongside Val Kilmer. Following this, she won the role of the title character in UPN's drama Veronica Mars, which was launched in the fall of 2004. In 2006 the show was renewed for a third season, and returned on a newly created network, The CW. On May 17, 2007, The CW canceled this program. In the article she is said to have "single-handedly saved the CW from becoming the worst network ever". In 2007, Bell is the title character in the CW's new series Gossip Girl as an unseen narrator. After turning down a role on Lost, Kristen took a guest role on NBC's Heroes for at least thirteen episodes playing a mysterious character named Elle.
