Actress Kate Noelle "Katie" Holmes was born two months premature on December 18, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio. Being the youngest in a family of seven, Katie was always the baby. At fourteen she began classes at a modeling school in Toledo, Canada and after two years of classes, she competed in the International Modeling and Talent Association in New York and won many awards. It was there that she was spotted by a talent manager.
Holmes was still in high school when she auditioned for Dawson's Creek. In 1998, she began her role as Joey Potter, which she played through 2003 when the show was cancelled. Since then, she has costarred in Pieces of April (2003) and Batman Begins (2005). On July 7th 2006, she married Tom Cruise and in April, 2006 she gave birth to her first child, Suri.
