Hilary Duff was born on September 28, 1987 in Houston Texas. At age six, Hilary and older sister Haylie began taking acting classes. When the two sisters became serious about professional acting they moved to California with their mother. After appearing in several television commercials and small TV and movie roles Hilary landed a starring role in the Disney television show, "Lizzie McGuire" (2001). Her first starring role in a move was in The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), which was released May 2nd, 2003.
Duff has released three albums, the most popular of which being self-titled Hilary Duff (2005) which sold 1.5 million copies in the US. Her music, however, is most popular in Canada and Australia.
