Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles. Being the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, she began studying acting at age 11 at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in NYC. As a child, Jolie wanted to become a funeral director, but she eventually decided against it and started as a professional model and as an actress in music videos. She went on to act in films directed by her older brother, James Haven Voight.
Angelina later made her major film debut in Hackers, where she costarred with her then-future husband, Jonny Lee Miller. Years later, Jolie had a brief marriage to Billy Bob Thorton, which ended in 2002. During the marriage, Jolie starred in Tomb Raider and after the divorce, she starred in Tomb Raider 2. In 2005, she costarred with Brad Pitt in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, for which she was paid ten million dollars.
